The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ Whereof do they question one another? 1 They quarrel about the great news 2 Regarding which they hold different views. 3 Indeed, they shall know! 4 Again, by no means! anon they shall know. 5 Have We not made the earth an expanse, 6 and raised the mountains like supporting poles? 7 And We created you in pairs, 8 And We have made your sleep as a rest. 9 And We made the night to be a covering, 10 and We appointed day for a livelihood. 11 And We built above you seven strong ones, 12 And have appointed a dazzling lamp, 13 and have sent down out of the rainclouds water cascading 14 That We may produce from it grain and vegetation, 15 And gardens dense and luxuriant. 16 The Day of Judgment will certainly be the final appointment. 17 The Day the Horn is blown and you will come forth in multitudes 18 and heaven is opened, and become gates, 19 and the mountains will be set in motion and become a mirage. 20 Surely hell lies in wait, 21 for the insolent a resort, 22 They will tarry therein for ages. 23 They shall not taste therein cool nor drink 24 But boiling and intensely cold water, 25 for a suitable recompense. 26 For verily, they used not to look for a reckoning. 27 They called Our revelations false with strong denial. 28 but We have recorded everything in a Book. 29 "So taste ye (the fruits of your deeds); for no increase shall We grant you, except in Punishment." 30
