Surely We brought man into being out of dry ringing clay which was wrought from black mud, 26 And the jinn, We had created them afore of the fire of the scroching wind. 27 Your Lord said to the angels, "I am about to bring into being a man wrought from mud. 28 "When I have fashioned him (in due proportion) and breathed into him of My spirit, fall ye down in obeisance unto him." 29 So, the angels - all of them - fell down in prostration, 30 Save Iblis. He refused to be among the prostrate. 31 Allah said: O Iblis! what aileth thou that thou art not with the prostrates? 32 [Iblis (Satan)] said: "I am not the one to prostrate myself to a human being, whom You created from sounding clay of altered black smooth mud." 33 God said, "Then get out of here; for you are accursed, 34 And lo! the curse shall be upon thee till the Day of Judgment. 35 "O my Lord," said he, "give me respite till the day the dead are raised." 36 The Lord said, "Your request is granted 37 till the appointed time. 38 (satan) said: 'My Lord, for Your perverting me, I shall make (matters) in the earth seem most fair to them and I shall pervert all, 39 Except, among them, Your chosen servants." 40 Allah said: "Here is the path that leads straight to Me. 41 “Indeed you do not have any power over My bondmen, except those wanderers who follow you.” (The devil is unsuccessful in tempting Allah’s chosen bondmen to commit sin.) 42 Gehenna (Hell) will be the promise for all of them. 43 "It (Hell) has seven gates, for each of those gates is a (special) class (of sinners) assigned. 44
