When the Messengers came to the family of Lot, 61 he said: "Surely you are an unknown folk." 62 They said, "No, but we bring you news about what they disputed, 63 “And we have brought to you a true command, and indeed we are truthful.” 64 Therefore go forth with your followers in a part of the night and yourself follow their rear, and let not any one of you turn round, and go forth whither you are commanded. 65 And We made known to him this decree that the wrongdoers were to be utterly cut off in the morning. 66 The people of the town came along, revelling, 67 He said: 'These are my guests; do not shame me. 68 “And fear Allah and do not disgrace me.” 69 They said: "Did we not forbid thee (to speak) for all and sundry?" 70 He said: Here are my daughters, if ye must be doing (so). 71 By your life! In their drunkenness they were truly blind. 72 So they were seized by the mighty blast at break of day; 73 And We made the upside there of downwards, and We rained on them stones of baked clay. 74 There are certainly signs in that for those who can learn a lesson -- 75 And verily! They (the cities) were right on the highroad (from Makkah to Syria i.e. the place where the Dead Sea is now). 76 Verily in that is a sign for the believers. 77 And the Companions of the Wood were also wrong-doers; 78 So We chastised them. The desolate locations of both communities lie on a well-known highway. 79

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
