And recall what time thy Lord called unto Musa, saying: go thou unto the wrong-doing people. 10 "The people of the Pharaoh: will they not fear Allah?" 11 'My Lord' he replied, 'I fear they will belie me 12 And I shall be embarrassed, and my tongue will not speak plainly, therefor send for Aaron (to help me). 13 They also have a sin against me, and I fear they will slay me.' 14 (It was) said: "By no means. Go with My signs, both of you. I am verily with you and I hear. 15 And come together unto Pharaoh and say: Lo! we bear a message of the Lord of the Worlds, 16 let the Children of Israel go with us!'" 17 He (Pharaoh) said (to Moses): 'Did We not bring you up when you were a child? And have you not spent years of your life amongst us? 18 And you did (that) deed of yours which you did, and you are one of the ungrateful. 19 Moses said, "I did do it and I made a mistake. 20 So I fled from you when I feared you. Then my Lord granted me wisdom and prophethood and appointed me [as one] of the messengers. 21 And this is the favor with which you oblige me: You have made the Israelites your slaves. 22 Pharaoh said, "What is this: Lord of the Universe?" 23 Moses answered: "The Lord of the heavens and the earth and of all that is between them, if you were only to believe." 24 Fir'aun (Pharaoh) said to those around: "Do you not hear (what he says)?" 25 He said: your Lord and the Lord of your ancient fathers. 26 (The Pharaoh) said (to his nobles): "Your apostle who has been sent to you, is certainly mad." 27 He said: The Lord of the east and the west and what is between them, if you understand. 28 Pharaoh said: "If you take any god other than me, I will certainly make you one of those (who are rotting) in prison." 29 Moses said: "Even if I were to bring a Clear Sign to you?" 30 Said he, 'Bring it then, if thou art of the truthful.' 31 So [Moses] threw his staff, and suddenly it was a serpent manifest. 32 And he drew forth his hand, and lo! it was white unto the beholders. 33
