۞ [The angels will be ordered], "Gather those who committed wrong, their kinds, and what they used to worship 22 "Instead of Allah, and lead them on to the way of flaming Fire (Hell); 23 And detain them, for they will be questioned." 24 [They will be asked], "What is [wrong] with you? Why do you not help each other?" 25 But they, that Day, are in surrender. 26 And some of them inclined towards others, mutually questioning. 27 (The followers will say to their leaders): “You used to come to us from the right hand.” 28 They will say: nay! ye yourselves were not believers. 29 We had no power over you, but ye were wayward folk. 30 "So now has been proved true, against us, the word of our Lord that we shall indeed (have to) taste (the punishment of our sins). 31 And we led you to deviation; indeed, we were deviators." 32 Truly, that Day, they will (all) share in the Penalty. 33 Certainly, that is how We deal with Al-Mujrimun (polytheists, sinners, criminals, the disobedient to Allah, etc.). 34 Indeed, when it was said to them, “There is no God except Allah”, they were haughty. 35 And to say: What! shall we indeed give up our gods for the sake of a mad poet? 36 No, indeed, he has brought the truth, and confirmed the Messengers. 37 “You surely have to taste the painful punishment.” 38 But it will be no more than the retribution of (the Evil) that ye have wrought;- 39 But the sincere servants of God 40 Those will have a provision determined - 41 Fruits of every kind, and they will be honoured 42 in the Gardens of Delight, 43 facing one another [in love] upon thrones of happiness. 44 Cups of wine will be presented to them in rounds, from a spring flowing in front of them. 45 delicious to those who drink it 46 Neither does it intoxicate, nor give a headache. 47 And besides them will be chaste women, restraining their glances, with big eyes (of wonder and beauty). 48 (Delicate and pure) as if they were (hidden) eggs (well) preserved. 49 So one among them turns to the other, questioning. – 50 The speaker among them said, “I had a companion.” – 51 Who said: art thou of those who confess to the doctrine of Resurrection: 52 after we die and become dust and bones, we shall be brought to judgement?'" 53 He will say, "Would you [care to] look?" 54 Then he looks, and sees him in the midst of Hell. 55 He will say to him: -- By Allah, you almost ruined me. 56 Had I not the guidance of my Lord, I would certainly have been brought into torment". 57 But then, [O my friends in paradise,] is it [really] so that we are not to die 58 [again,] beyond our previous death, and that we shall never [again] be made to suffer? 59 Truly, this is the supreme success! 60 and for the like of this let the workers work. 61 Is this better as an entertainment or the tree of Zaqqum? 62 Verily We! We have made it a temptation for the wrong-doers. 63 It is a tree that grows in the nethermost part of Hell. 64 Its spathes are like the heads of satans. 65 Truly, they will eat thereof and fill their bellies therewith. 66 then in addition to it they shall have a draught of boiling water to drink; 67 then their return is to Hell. 68 They indeed found their fathers astray, 69 so they are rushing to follow in their footsteps. 70 And there had already strayed before them most of the former peoples, 71 And We had already sent among them warners. 72 Therefore see what sort of fate befell those who were warned! 73 EXCEPT for God's true servants, [most people are apt to go astray.] 74
