3/4 Hizb 45
< random >
(In the days of old), Noah cried to Us, and We are the best to hear prayer. 75 And We rescued him and his family from the great distress (i.e. drowning), 76 And his offspring! them We made the survivors. 77 and We established for him a good name among posterity. 78 'Peace be upon Noah among all the worlds' 79 Verily, thus We reward the Muhsinun (good-doers - see V. 2:112). 80 For he was one of our believing Servants. 81 Afterwards We drowned the others. 82 ۞ Abraham was one of his followers. 83 when he came unto his Lord with a pure heart, 84 When he said to his father and his people: What is it that you worship? 85 Is it a falsehood-god beside Allah that ye desire? 86 What do you think about the Lord of the Universe?" 87 Then he looked up at the stars (they worshipped), 88 And he said, "I am indeed sick (at heart)!" 89 So turning their backs, they went away from him. 90 Then he turned towards their gods and said: "Why do you not eat (of these offerings)? 91 "What is the matter with you that ye speak not (intelligently)?" 92 Then he turned upon them, striking them with his right hand, 93 [But] then the others came towards him hurriedly [and accused him of his deed]. 94 He said: "Worship you that which you (yourselves) carve? 95 when it is God who has created you and all your handiwork?" 96 They exclaimed: "Build a pyre for him, and cast him into the blazing fire!" 97 And they devised a plot for him, but We made them the humble. 98 And he said: "I am going away to my Lord who will show me the way. 99 My Lord! Vouchsafe me of the righteous. 100 So We gave him the glad tidings of a forbearing boy. 101 And, when he (his son) was old enough to walk with him, he said: "O my son! I have seen in a dream that I am slaughtering you (offer you in sacrifice to Allah), so look what you think!" He said: "O my father! Do that which you are commanded, Insha' Allah (if Allah will), you shall find me of As-Sabirin (the patient ones, etc.)." 102 Then, when they had both surrendered (to Allah), and he had flung him down upon his face, 103 We called to him, "Abraham, 104 you have fulfilled what you were commanded to do in your dream." Thus do We reward the righteous ones. 105 Verily that! that was a trial manifest. 106 We ransomed his son with a great sacrifice 107 And left (his hallowed memory) for posterity. 108 "Peace and salutation to Abraham!" 109 Thus, do We reward the righteous ones. 110 He was one of Our believing servants. 111 And we gave him tidings of the birth of Isaac, a prophet of the righteous. 112 We blessed him and Isaac: but of their progeny are (some) that do right, and (some) that obviously do wrong, to their own souls. 113
