Observedest thou him who turned away? 33 And gives a little and (then) withholds. 34 Has he the knowledge of the unseen so that he can see? 35 Did not the news reach him, of that which is mentioned in the Books of Moosa? 36 And of Abraham who fulfilled his trust? -- 37 That no laden one shall bear another's load, 38 That man can have nothing but what he strives for; 39 and that his work is surely seen 40 Then he will be recompensed for it with the fullest recompense 41 And that to your Lord is the finality 42 and that He it is Who causes people to laugh and to cry, 43 and that it is He who causes to die, and causes to live 44 It is He who has created spouses, male and female, 45 out of a [mere] drop of sperm as it is poured forth, 46 and that [therefore] it is within His power to bring about a second life; 47 that it is He who gives wealth and possessions; 48 and that He is the Lord of (the star) Sirius, 49 And that it is He Who earlier destroyed the tribe of Aad? 50 And Thamud - and He did not spare [them] - 51 and before them the people of Noah who were even more unjust and insolent; 52 And He destroyed the overthrown cities [of Sodom to which Prophet Lout (Lot) was sent]. 53 So they were covered with whatever covered them? 54 On which then of your Lord's signs do you cast doubt? 55 This is a Warner, of the (series of) Warners of old! 56 The (Judgment) ever approaching draws nigh: 57 [although] none but God can unveil it.... 58 So are you surprised at this fact? 59 And will ye laugh and not weep,- 60 Wasting your time in vanities? 61 Rather prostrate yourselves before Allah and serve Him. ۩ 62
