Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection 1 And I swear by the self-reproaching soul. 2 Does man think that We will not assemble his bones? 3 We certainly have the power to restore them even the very tips of their finger. 4 But man wishes to do wrong (even) in the time in front of him. 5 He asketh: when will the Day of Resurrection be? 6 When the sight is dazed, 7 And the moon is buried in darkness. 8 And the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 That day man will say: "Where can I find escape?" 10 No! There is no refuge! 11 Unto thy Lord is the recourse that day. 12 Upon that day man shall be told his former deeds and his latter; 13 In fact man is a witness against himself, 14 Although he may put forth his pleas. 15 Do not move your tongue with it to make haste with it, 16 Surely its collection and recitation are Our responsibility. 17 Therefore when We have recited it, follow its recitation. 18 It's explanation is upon Us. 19 NAY, but [most of] you love this fleeting life, 20 And neglect the Hereafter. 21 [Some] faces, that Day, will be radiant, 22 Looking at their Lord (Allah); 23 And some faces, that Day, will be Basirah (dark, gloomy, frowning, and sad), 24 Knowing that there will be made to befall them some great calamity. 25 But when [man's soul] reaches the throat, 26 And men say: Where is the wizard (who can save him now)? 27 He will then realise it is the parting, 28 And agony is heaped on agony; 29 That Day the Drive will be (all) to thy Lord! 30
