Say thou: O people of the Book! come to a word common between us and between you; that we shall worship none save Allah and that we shall not associate aught with Him, and that none of you shall take others as Lords beside Allah. Then if they turn away, say: bear witness that verily we are Muslims. 64 O people of the Book! wherefore contend ye concerning Ibrahim, whereas the Taurat and the Injil were not sent down save after him! Will ye not then understand? 65 Behold! you are they who disputed about that of which you had knowledge; why then do you dispute about that of which you have no knowledge? And Allah knows while you do not know. 66 Ibrahim (Abraham) was neither a Jew nor a Christian, but he was a true Muslim Hanifa (Islamic Monotheism - to worship none but Allah Alone) and he was not of Al-Mushrikun (See V. 2:105). 67 Surely the people standing closest to Abraham are those who followed him, and this Prophet, and those who believe; and God is the Protector of the believers. 68 A group among the People given the Book(s) desire that if only they could lead you astray; and they only make themselves astray, and they do not have sense. 69 O people of the Book! wherefore disbelieve ye in the revelations of Allah whereas ye bear witness? 70 People of the Book! Why do you confound truth with falsehood, and knowingly hide the truth? 71
