[AND] the people of Lot gave the lie to [one of God's] message-bearers 160 When their brother Lot said to them, "Will you not fear Allah? 161 I have been sent as a trusted messenger to you. 162 "So fear Allah, keep your duty to Him, and obey me. 163 I ask no recompense of you for this. My reward is due from none but the Lord of all the worlds. 164 What, of all creation will you go to (fornicate with) the males, 165 leaving aside those whom Allah has created for you as your mates. Nay, you are a people that has transgressed all limits." 166 'Lot' they replied, 'if you do not desist, you shall be thrown out' 167 He said, “I am disgusted with your works.” 168 'My Lord, save me and my people from that they are doing' 169 So We delivered him and his household all. 170 Except an old woman, among those who remained behind. 171 Thereafter, We utterly destroyed the rest, 172 and We rained on them a rain; and evil is the rain of them that are warned. 173 Verily in this is a Sign: but most of them do not believe. 174 And lo! thy Lord, He is indeed the Mighty, the Merciful. 175
