The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Whereof do they question one another? 1 Of the mighty Announcement, 2 That over which they are in disagreement. 3 No indeed; soon will they come to know; 4 Nay, again, but they will come to know! 5 Have We not made the earth as a cradle 6 and the mountains as pegs? 7 We created you in pairs, 8 And We have made your sleep as a rest. 9 and We appointed night for a garment, 10 And the day for seeking livelihood. 11 Have We not made seven strong heavens above you, 12 and placed therein a hot, shining lamp, 13 And do We not send down from the clouds water in abundance, 14 that We may bring forth thereby grain and plants, 15 And dense gardens. 16 Indeed the Day of Decision is a time fixed. 17 The Day the Horn is blown and you will come forth in multitudes 18 And the heaven will be opened – it therefore becomes like gates. 19 and the mountains shall be made to vanish, as if they had been a mirage. 20 Behold, Gehenna has become an ambush, 21 A dwelling place for the Taghun (those who transgress the boundry limits set by Allah like polytheists, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah, hyprocrites, sinners, criminals, etc.), 22 They will dwell therein for ages. 23 they shall taste in it no coolness, nor any pleasant drink 24 Except hot boiling water and hot pus discharged from the people of hell. 25 , A fitting reward. 26 For verily, they used not to look for a reckoning. 27 And they belied Our revelations with strong belying. 28 but We have recorded everything in a Book. 29 [So We shall say], "Taste, then, [the fruit of your evil doings,] for now We shall bestow on you nothing but more and more suffering!" 30
