The Ant (Al-Naml)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Ta'. Sin. These are the verses of the Qur'an and a Clear Book; 1 A guidance and glad tidings unto the believers. 2 Those who perform As-Salat (Iqamat-as-Salat) and give Zakat and they believe with certainty in the Hereafter (resurrection, recompense of their good and bad deeds, Paradise and Hell, etc.). 3 We have made those who do not believe in the Hereafter feel their actions appear good to them, so they wander blindly: 4 Such are those for whom there is an evil punishment, and in the Everlasting Life are the greatest losers. 5 You have received the Koran from the Wise, the Knower. 6 Behold! Moses said to his family: "I perceive a fire; soon will I bring you from there some information, or I will bring you a burning brand to light our fuel, that ye may warm yourselves. 7 But when he reached it, a voice called out: "Blessed is He who is in the fire and all around it. Praised be God, the Lord of all the worlds. 8 [And God spoke thus:] "O Moses! Verily I alone am God, the Almighty, the Wise!" 9 And [he was told], "Throw down your staff." But when he saw it writhing as if it were a snake, he turned in flight and did not return. [Allah said], "O Moses, fear not. Indeed, in My presence the messengers do not fear. 10 and neither need anyone who has done wrong and then has replaced the wrong with good: for, verily, I am much-forgiving, a dispenser of grace! 11 Put your hand inside your collar and it will come out luminous without evil? among the nine signs to Pharaoh and his nation, indeed they were an impious nation' 12 Then when Our enlightening signs came to them, they said, “This is clear magic.” 13 They rejected the evidence because of their arrogance and injustice, although their souls knew it to be true. Think how terrible the end of the sinful ones was! 14
