The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By those that pluck out vehemently 1 And who softly release the soul. (Of the believer) 2 and by those that speedily glide along (the cosmos), 3 And then they speed with foremost speed. 4 and by those who regulate events. 5 On the Day, the shiverer shivers 6 And the second followeth it, 7 On that Day some hearts shall tremble (with fright), 8 Their eyes humbled. 9 The disbelievers say, “Will we really return to our former state?” 10 What! when we are rotten bones? 11 They say: that then shall be a losing return. 12 But it will be only a single blow, 13 and they will be upon the surface of the earth (alive). 14 HAS THE STORY of Moses ever come within thy ken. 15 Behold, thy Lord did call to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa:- 16 (Saying:) Go thou unto Pharaoh - Lo! he hath rebelled - 17 Then say thou: wouldst thou to be purified? 18 Then I will guide you to your Lord that you may come to fear Him.'" 19 Then he shewed him the great sign. 20 but he cried lies, and rebelled, 21 and brusquely turned his back [on Moses]; 22 Then he collected (his men) and made a proclamation, 23 and said, "I am your Lord All-Highest!" 24 So Allah, seized him with punishment for his last [i.e. his saying: "I am your lord, most high") (see Verse 79:24)] and first [(i.e. his saying, "O chiefs! I know not that you have a god other than I" (see Verse 28:38)] transgression. 25 Indeed in that is a warning for whoever would fear [Allah]. 26
