The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the night as it envelops; 1 and by the day when it breaks in its glory, 2 And [by] He who created the male and female, 3 Your striving is most surely (directed to) various (ends). 4 As for he who gives and fears Allah 5 And believes in Al-Husna. 6 Unto him therefore We shall indeed make easy the path to ease. 7 But he who is greedy miser and thinks himself self-sufficient. 8 And gives the lie to Al-Husna (see Verse No: 6 footnote); 9 So We will very soon provide him hardship. 10 And his wealth will not avail him when he perishes. 11 Surely, in Our hands is guidance, 12 And to Us belong the End and the Beginning. 13 I have now warned you of a Blazing Fire, 14 where none shall burn except the most wicked, 15 who denied [the truth], and turned away. 16 And avoid it shall the most pious, 17 Who giveth his wealth that he may grow (in goodness). 18 And no one has done a favour to him, for which he should be compensated. 19 but only to seek the good pleasure of his Lord Most High. 20 And he shall soon be well-pleased. 21
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
