The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
I swear by the mansions of the stars, 1 And by oath of the Promised Day. 2 And by the witness and that whereunto he beareth testimony, 3 the people of the pit were destroyed 4 of fire fiercely burning [for all who have attained to faith]! 5 when they were seated over it 6 and they were witnesses of what they did to the believers 7 And what did they dislike from the Muslims, except that the Muslims accepted faith in Allah the Most Honourable, the Most Praiseworthy? 8 [and] to whom the dominion of the heavens and the earth belongs. But God is witness unto everything! 9 Those who persecute the believers, men and women, and then have not repented, there awaits them the chastisement of Gehenna, and there awaits them the chastisement of the burning. 10 (But) for those who believe and do good works, for them there are Gardens underneath which rivers flow that is the Great Victory! 11 Indeed, the vengeance of your Lord is severe. 12 Verily He! He it is who beginneth and repeateth it. 13 And He alone is truly-forgiving, all-embracing in His love, 14 Lord of the Arsh, the Glorious, 15 the Executor of what He wills. 16 HAS IT ever come within thy ken, the story of the [sinful] hosts 17 Of Firon and Samood? 18 Yet the infidels persist in denial. 19 And Allah is after them, has them surrounded. 20 This is indeed the glorious Qur'an 21 upon an imperishable tablet [inscribed]. 22
