The Heifer (Al-Baqarah)

286 verses, revealed in Medina after The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen) before The Spoils of War (Al-Anfaal)

In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful

Alif Lam Mim. 1 This is the Book about which there is no doubt, a guidance for those conscious of Allah - 2 Who believe in the unseen and establish the (daily) prayer; who spend out of what We have provided them. 3 those who believe in the revelation sent down to you and in what was sent before you, and firmly believe in the life to come -- 4 It is they who follow the guidance [which comes from their Sustainer]; and it is they, they who shall attain to a happy state! 5 Verily those who have disbelieved, it is equal to them whether thou warnest them or warnest them not; they will not believe. 6 Allah has set a seal upon their hearts and upon their hearing, and over their vision is a veil. And for them is a great punishment. 7
