And Noah had certainly called Us, and [We are] the best of responders. 75 And We delivered him and his followers from the mighty distress. 76 And, his progeny, them We made the survivors (i.e. Shem, Ham and Japheth). 77 and left for him among the later folk 78 "Peace be upon Noah throughout all the worlds!" 79 Lo! thus do We reward the good. 80 he was one of Our believing worshipers. 81 We then drowned the others. 82 ۞ And lo! of his persuasion verily was Abraham 83 When he came unto his Lord with a whole heart; 84 When he said unto his father and his folk: What is it that ye worship? 85 Why do you solicit false gods instead of God? 86 What do you think of the Lord of the whole Universe?” 87 He looked up at the stars. 88 and said, "I am sick!" 89 And they turned their backs and went away from him. 90 He then sneaked upon their deities and said, “Do you not eat?” 91 "What is the matter with you that ye speak not (intelligently)?" 92 And he turned upon them smiting them with his right hand. 93 Then the people came toward him, hastening. 94 but he said, "How can you worship things you carve with your own hands, 95 when it is Allah who created you and all that you do' 96 They said: Build for him a building and fling him in the red-hotfire. 97 They had contrived an evil plan against him, but We abased them all. 98 And [Abraham] said: "Verily, I shall [leave this land and] go wherever my Sustainer will guide me!" 99 My Lord! Bestow on me a son who will be of the righteous. 100 We gave him the good news that he would have a patient, forbearing son. 101 When his son was old enough to work with him, he said, "My son, I have had a dream that I must sacrifice you. What do you think of this?" He replied, "Father, fulfill whatever you are commanded to do and you will find me patient, by the will of God". 102 Then, when they had both submitted themselves (to the Will of Allah), and he had laid him prostrate on his forehead (or on the side of his forehead for slaughtering); 103 We called out to him "O Abraham! 104 Of a surety thou hast fulfilled the vision. Verily We! thus We recompense the well-doers. 105 That was indeed a trying test. 106 And We ransomed him with a momentous sacrifice: 107 And We left for him (a goodly remembrance) among generations (to come) in later times. 108 Peace be upon Ibrahim! 109 Thus indeed do We reward the Muhsinun (good-doers - see V. 2:112). 110 He is truly among Our faithful creatures. 111 And [in time] We gave him the glad tiding of Isaac, [who, too, would be] a prophet, one of the righteous; 112 And We sent blessings upon him and Ishaq; and among their descendants – some who do good deeds, and some who clearly wrong themselves. 113
