The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the sky, and by the nightly comer! 1 Do you know what al-tariq is? 2 It is the piercing star. 3 There is no soul but has a protector over it. 4 Let the human reflect of what he is created. 5 he has been created out of a seminal fluid 6 That issueth from between the loins and the breast-bones. 7 He certainly has the power to bring him back to life. 8 The Day that (all) things secret will be tested, 9 Then will he have no might nor any helper. 10 Consider the heavens, ever-revolving, 11 by earth splitting with verdure, 12 BEHOLD, this [divine writ] is indeed a word that distinguishes between truth and falsehood, 13 It is no pleasantry. 14 Indeed the disbelievers carry out their evil schemes. 15 And I am plotting a plot. 16 So leave the unbelievers to themselves; respite them awhile. 17
Almighty Allah's Truth.
