Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
CONSIDER the winds that scatter the dust far and wide, 1 Then by oath of those which carry the burdens. 2 and the smooth runners 3 And those who distribute (it) by command, 4 Lo! that wherewith ye are threatened is indeed true, 5 and surely the Doom is about to fall! 6 By the heaven containing pathways, 7 surely you are deeply at variance [as to what to believe] -- 8 Turned aside therefrom is who is turned aside. 9 May the conjecturers perish, 10 Those who are in heedlessness neglectful. 11 asking, 'When shall be the Day of Doom?' 12 (It is) the day on which they shall be tried at the fire. 13 'Taste your trial. This is what you have sought to hasten' 14 As for the God-fearing, they shall be in the midst of gardens and fountains, 15 They shall receive what their Lord will bestow on them. They have done good works in the past, 16 Little of the night would they slumber, 17 and would ask for forgiveness at dawn, 18 and in their wealth was a share for whosoever asked and for whosoever was prevented. 19 And on the earth are signs for those who have Faith with certainty, 20 And (also) in yourselves. Can ye then not see? 21 And in the heaven is your providence and that which ye are promised; 22 And by the Lord of the heavens and the earth! it is most surely the truth, just as you do speak. 23
