The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the night when it covers 1 and by the day as it appears radiantly, 2 And by Who created the male and female, 3 surely your striving is to diverse ends. 4 Then as for him who gives away and guards (against evil), 5 and affirmed the Truth of goodness: 6 Unto him therefore We shall indeed make easy the path to ease. 7 But as for he who withholds and considers himself free of need 8 and calls the ultimate good a lie 9 We shall facilitate the path to affliction 10 And his wealth will not avail him when he perishes. 11 BEHOLD, it is indeed for Us to grace [you] with guidance; 12 and to Us belongs the Hereafter as well as the present world -- 13 Therefor have I warned you of the flaming Fire 14 None shall enter it but the most unhappy, 15 who belied and turned away, 16 and from which the cautious shall be distanced. 17 Who gives away his wealth, purifying himself 18 not as payment for any favours that he received, 19 only seeking the Face of his Lord the Most High; 20 And indeed, soon he will be very pleased. 21
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
