Al-Duhaa

The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)

11 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dawn (Al-Fajr) before Cooling the Temper (Al-Sharrhh)

In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace

By the morning hours 1 and by the calm of night, 2 Thy Sustainer has not forsaken thee, nor does He scorn thee: 3 and the Last shall be better for thee than the First. 4 And presently thy Lord shall give unto thee so that thou shalt be well-pleased. 5 Did He not find you as an orphan and give you shelter? 6 And He found you unaware (of the Quran, its legal laws, and Prophethood, etc.) and guided you? 7 And He found thee in need, and made thee independent. 8 Therefore do not treat the orphan with harshness, 9 And do not rebuke the beggar. 10 and of thy Sustainer's blessings shalt thou [ever] speak. 11

True are the words of God the Almighty.
