The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Read with the name of your Lord Who created, 1 Createth man from a clot. 2 Read! And your Lord is the Most Generous, 3 who taught by the pen, 4 taught man what he did not know. 5 Nay, but verily man is rebellious 6 because he thinks that he is independent. 7 truly, all will return to your Lord. 8 Did you see him who forbids 9 A servant when he prays? 10 Have you seen if he was upon guidance 11 He would enjoin piety, so how good it would be! 12 Seest thou if he denies (Truth) and turns away? 13 Does he not know that Allah sees? 14 Let him know that if he does not desist, We shall certainly drag him by his forelocks, 15 A lying, sinful forelock! 16 So, let him call upon his way! 17 We will call the guards of Hell (to deal with him)! 18 Nay, heed him not: But bow down in adoration, and bring thyself the closer (to Allah)! ۩ 19
