Noah called to Us, and We are the Best to answer. 75 And We rescued him and his family from the great distress (i.e. drowning), 76 and made his offspring the only ones to survive, 77 We perpetuated his praise in later generations. 78 Peace be upon Noah among all the peoples! 79 Even so We recompense the good-doers; 80 Verily, he [Nuh (Noah)] was one of Our believing slaves. 81 Then afterwards We drowned the rest. 82 ۞ Abraham was one of his followers. 83 When he came to his Lord with a free heart, 84 [And] when he said to his father and his people, "What do you worship? 85 Is it falsehood [as] gods other than Allah you desire? 86 What then is your opinion of the Lord of the Worlds? 87 He looked up at the stars. 88 He then said, “I feel sick (of you)!” 89 And they turned their backs on him and went away. (The pagans thought he would transmit the disease). 90 Then he slipped unto their gods and said: eat ye not? 91 What is amiss with you that you do not speak?" 92 He then began striking them with his right hand, unseen by the people. 93 Then they (the worshippers of idols) came, towards him, hastening. 94 He said, "How can you worship what you yourselves have carved 95 "While Allah has created you and what you make!" 96 They said: "Build for him a building (it is said that the building was like a furnace) and throw him into the blazing fire!" 97 And they designed a snare for him, but We made them the undermost. 98 And he said, “Indeed I shall go to my Lord Who will guide me.” 99 My Lord! Bestow on me a son who will be of the righteous. 100 So We gave him tidings of a gentle son. 101 And when he reached the age when he could work with him, he said, "O my son, I have seen in a dream that I am sacrificing you. So tell me what you think of it!" He replied, "O my father, do as you are commanded; and God willing, you will find me steadfast." 102 So when they both submitted and he threw him down upon his forehead, 103 We cried unto him: O Ibrahim 104 Of a surety thou hast fulfilled the vision. Verily We! thus We recompense the well-doers. 105 Indeed this was a clear test. 106 And We ransomed him with a mighty victim. 107 And We left for him [favorable mention] among later generations: 108 Peace be on Abraham. 109 That is how We recompense the righteous: 110 truly, he was one of Our faithful servants. 111 And We gave him the glad tidings of Ishaque (Isaac) a Prophet from the righteous. 112 And We blessed him and Is-haq; and of their offspring are some well-doers and some who wrong themselves manifestly. 113
