Noah (Nooh)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Indeed We sent Nooh towards his people saying that, “Warn your people before the painful punishment comes upon them.” 1 He said, 'O my people, I am unto you a clear warner, 2 That you should serve Allah and be careful of (your duty to) Him and obey me: 3 That He may forgive you somewhat of your sins and respite you to an appointed term. Lo! the term of Allah, when it cometh, cannot be delayed, if ye but knew. 4 He said: "O Lord, I called my people night and day, 5 But my invitation increased them not except in flight. 6 And verily so oft as I call them, that Thou mayest forgive them, they place their fingers into their ears, and wrap themselves with their garments, and persist, and are stiff-necked. 7 Then verily I have called unto them publicly 8 "Then verily, I proclaimed to them in public, and I have appealed to them in private, 9 And I have said: Seek pardon of your Lord. Lo! He was ever Forgiving. 10 ‘He will send down abundant rain for you from the sky.’ 11 And give you increase in wealth and children and provide for you gardens and provide for you rivers. 12 strengthen you by (providing) you wealth and children, and make gardens and streams for you. What is the matter with you that you are not afraid of the greatness of God 13 ‘Whereas it is He Who created you in different stages?’ 14 "'See ye not how Allah has created the seven heavens one above another, 15 And made the moon therein a light, and made the sun a lamp? 16 "'And Allah has produced you from the earth growing (gradually), 17 "'And in the End He will return you into the (earth), and raise you forth (again at the Resurrection)? 18 And Allah has made for you the earth wide spread (an expanse). 19 That you may go about therein in broad roads. 20
