Lot's nation, belied their Messengers. 160 When their fellowman Lut said to them, “Do you not fear?” 161 I am a trustworthy messenger to you: 162 So keep your duty to Allah and obey me. 163 I seek of you no reward. My reward is with none but the Lord of the Universe. 164 What, do you come to male beings, 165 "And leave those whom Allah has created for you to be your mates? Nay, ye are a people transgressing (all limits)!" 166 They said: if thou desistest not, O Lut! thou shalt surely be of those driven forth. 167 He said, "Indeed, I am, toward your deed, of those who detest [it]. 168 "O my Lord! deliver me and my family from such things as they do!" 169 We saved him and all of his family, 170 except for an old woman who stayed behind, 171 Then We utterly destroyed the others. 172 And We rained on them a rain. And dreadful is the rain of those who have been warned. 173 In this [story,] behold, there is a message [unto men,] even though most of them will not believe [in it]. 174 Yet surely your Lord is mighty and powerful. 175
