Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By oath of those which carry away while dispersing. 1 And those who bear the load (of rain), 2 Then by oath of those which move with ease. 3 and those that apportion [the gift of life] at [God's] behest! 4 What you are threatened with is most surely true, 5 And lo! the judgment will indeed befall. 6 By the heaven with its numerous forms: 7 Lo! ye, forsooth, are of various opinion (concerning the truth). 8 Through which are deluded (away from the Truth) such as would be deluded. 9 Cursed be the liars, 10 Who are careless in an abyss! 11 They ask, "When will the Day of Judgement come?" 12 It will be the Day when they are tormented at the Fire. 13 [and will be told:] "Taste this your trial! It is this that you were so hastily asking for!" 14 Verily the God-fearing will be amid Gardens and water-springs. 15 enjoying all that their Sustainer will have granted them [because,] verily, they were doers of good in the past: 16 They used to sleep but little by night [invoking their Lord (Allah) and praying, with fear and hope]. 17 and at dawn would ask forgiveness, 18 And the beggar and the destitute had a share in their wealth. 19 And on the earth there are signs for those who would be convinced. 20 And in yourselves. Then will you not see? 21 And in the heaven is your provision and that which ye are promised. 22 And by the Lord of the heavens and the earth, it is the truth, even as (it is true) that ye speak. 23
