Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
CONSIDER these [messages,] sent forth in waves 1 storming tempestuously 2 By those which cause earth's vegetation to revive; 3 thus separating [right and wrong] with all clarity, 4 And those that bring down the Reminder 5 As justification or warning, 6 Surely, what you are promised must come to pass. 7 So when the lights of the stars are put out. 8 and the sky is rent asunder, 9 And when the mountains are blown away 10 And when the messengers' time has come... 11 For what Day are these (portents) deferred? 12 To the day of decision. 13 How will you comprehend what the Day of Judgement is? 14 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 15 Destroyed We not the former folk, 16 So shall We make later (generations) follow them. 17 [for] thus do We deal with such as are lost in sin. 18 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 19 Did We not create you from a humble fluid, 20 which We then placed in a secure repository 21 until an appointed time? 22 So We did measure, and We are the Best to measure (the things). 23 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 24 Did We not make the earth a storehouse? 25 the living and the dead? 26 And made therein mountains standing firm, lofty (in stature); and provided for you water sweet (and wholesome)? 27 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 28 [They will be told], "Proceed to that which you used to deny. 29 Walk on to the covering having three branches, 30 unshading against the blazing flame 31 The fire will shoot out sparks as big as huge towers 32 As though they were camels yellow tawny. 33 On that day, woe would be upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 34 That will be a Day when they shall not speak (during some part of it), 35 And permission shall not be given to them so that they should offer excuses. 36 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 37 Such is the Day of Decision. We will gather you with the ancients. 38 So if you have any ploy, try it against Me! 39 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 40
