O you who believe! obey Allah and His Apostle and do not turn back from Him while you hear. 20 And be not like those who said, We hear, and they did not obey. 21 ۞ The worst beasts before Allah are those who are deaf, dumb, and do not understand. 22 Had they possessed any virtue, God would certainly have made them hear. Even if God were to make them hear, they would still turn away from (the words of God). 23 O Ye who believe! answer Allah and the apostle when he calleth you to that which quickeneth you, and know that verily Allah interposeth between a man and his heart, and that verily unto Him ye all shall be gathered. 24 And fear an affliction which may not smite those of you in particular who are unjust; and know that Allah is severe in requiting (evil). 25 And remember when you were only a few and meek in the land, and feared that men may snatch you away – He therefore gave you refuge and strengthened you with His help, and gave you good things as sustenance, so that you may be thankful. 26 Believers, do not betray Allah and the Messenger, nor knowingly betray your trust. 27 And know that your properties and your children are but a trial and that Allah has with Him a great reward. 28
