The News (Al-Naba')
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej) before The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ Concerning what are they disputing? 1 Of the mighty tiding 2 That over which they are in disagreement. 3 Indeed they will come to know soon; 4 Surely, they will soon find out the truth! 5 Have We not made the earth an expanse, 6 and the mountains as pegs? 7 and created you in pairs (as men and women), 8 and We appointed your sleep for a rest; 9 and We made the night a mantle, 10 and made the day [a symbol of] life. 11 We raised over you several secure (skies), 12 And have appointed a dazzling lamp, 13 And have sent down from the rainy clouds abundant water, 14 That We may bring forth thereby grain and vegetation 15 and gardens dense with foliage. 16 Indeed the Day of Decision is a time fixed. 17 The day when the Trumpet will be blown – you will therefore come forth in multitudes. 18 And the heaven will have been opened, and it will have become doors. 19 And the mountains shall be moved off so that they shall remain a mere semblance. 20 Hell will lie in wait (for its prey). 21 a goal for all who are wont to transgress the bounds of what is right! 22 They will abide therein for ages, 23 They will not taste therein [any] coolness or drink 24 Except hot boiling water and hot pus discharged from the people of hell. 25 for a suitable recompense. 26 They did not expect such a Judgment 27 And they belied Our revelations with strong belying. 28 but We have recorded everything in a Book. 29 'Taste! We shall not increase you except in punishment' 30

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
