The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
CONSIDER those [stars] that rise only to set, 1 By the meteors rushing, 2 And who glide with ease. 3 Then press forward as in a race, 4 Then arrange to do (the Commands of their Lord), 5 On the day when the first trump resoundeth. 6 and will be followed by the second one, 7 hearts will throb on that Day 8 and their eyes shall be humbled. 9 They say: shall we indeed be restored to the first state, 10 after we have become bones and dust?" 11 They say: Then that would be a vain proceeding. 12 But it shall be only a single cry, 13 And they will wake up suddenly. 14 (Muhammad), have you heard the story of Moses 15 when his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa, 16 "Go unto Pharaoh - for, verily, he has transgressed all bounds of what is right 17 And say: 'Would you like to grow (in virtue)? 18 and that I should guide thee to thy Lord, then thou shalt fear?"' 19 So Moosa showed him a magnificent sign. 20 but he cried lies, and rebelled, 21 Further, he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah). 22 then he mustered 23 Saying, "I am your Lord, Most High". 24 So God seized him for the punishment of the Hereafter and this world. 25 Most surely there is in this a lesson to him who fears. 26
