Al-Duhaa

The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)

11 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dawn (Al-Fajr) before Cooling the Temper (Al-Sharrhh)

In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful

By the midmorning, 1 And by the night when it is stillest, 2 Thy Guardian-Lord hath not forsaken thee, nor is He displeased. 3 And the Hereafter is indeed better unto thee than the life present. 4 And indeed your Lord will soon give you so much that you will be pleased. (Allah seeks to please the Holy Prophet – peace and blessings be upon him.) 5 Did He not find you as an orphan and give you shelter? 6 And He found thee wandering, so He guided thee, 7 And did He not find you in want, and then enriched you? 8 So do not oppress the orphan, 9 and chide not him who asks, 10 And keep recounting the favours of your Lord. 11
