T H (Taa Haa)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ Ta-Ha. 1 We have not sent down to you the Qur'an that you be distressed 2 but only as an exhortation for him who fears God; 3 It is a revelation from the Creator of the earth and the high heavens. 4 The Beneficent God is dominant over the Throne (of the realm). 5 all that is in the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, and all that is underneath the soil. 6 And if you speak aloud - then indeed, He knows the secret and what is [even] more hidden. 7 Allah! La ilahla illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He)! To Him belong the Best Names. 8 Hath there come unto thee the story of Moses? 9 When he saw a fire and said to his wife, “Wait – I have seen a fire – perhaps I may bring you an ember from it or find a way upon the fire.” 10 But when he came close to it, a voice called out: "O Moses! 11 "O Moses, I am verily your Lord, so take off your shoes, for you are in the holy plain of Towa. 12 "And I have chosen you. So listen to that which is inspired to you. 13 “Indeed it is Me, Allah – there is no God except I – therefore worship Me and keep the prayer established for My remembrance.” 14 "Verily, the Hour is coming and My Will is to keep it hidden that every person may be rewarded for that which he strives. 15 "Therefore, let not the one who believes not therein (i.e. in the Day of Resurrection, Reckoning, Paradise and Hell, etc.), but follows his own lusts, divert you therefrom, lest you perish. 16 "And what is that in your right hand, O Musa (Moses)?" 17 "It's my staff," he answered; "I lean on it, and fell leaves for my goats with it, and I have other uses for it." 18 (Allah) said, "Throw it, O Moses!" 19 So he cast it down; and lo! it was a serpent running. 20 The Lord said, "Hold the serpent and do not be afraid; We will bring it back to its original form." 21 And press your hand to your side, it shall come out white without evil: another sign: 22 This We have done to show you some of Our greater miracles. 23 Go to the Pharaoh as he has become exceedingly rebellious." 24
