The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
I CALL THE night to witness when it covers over, 1 by the day when it appears radiant, 2 and That which created the male and the female, 3 O men, you truly strive towards the most diverse ends! 4 As for him who giveth and is dutiful (toward Allah) 5 And believed the best matter to be true 6 Surely We will ease his way unto the state of ease. 7 And for him who hoarded wealth and remained carefree, 8 And gives the lie to the best,- 9 We will facilitate for him the difficult end. 10 Nor will his wealth profit him when he falls headlong (into the Pit). 11 Surely, in Our hands is guidance, 12 And verify Ours is both the Hereafter and the life present. 13 I therefore warn you of the fire that is ablaze. 14 None shall enter it but the most unhappy, 15 who gives the lie to the truth and turns away [from it]. 16 and from which the cautious shall be distanced. 17 one who gives his wealth to become purified, 18 And no one has with him any boon for which he should be rewarded, 19 He desires only to please his Lord, the Supreme. 20 And soon will they attain (complete) satisfaction. 21
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
