I say the truth, and call the moon to witness, 32 And the night when it departs, 33 and the morn when it dawns! 34 Verily it is one of the greatest woes. 35 a warning to mortal man 36 to everyone of you, whether he chooses to come forward or to hang back! 37 Every soul is mortgaged for its own deeds. 38 Except those on the Right, (i.e. the pious true believers of Islamic Monotheism); 39 (They will be) in Gardens (of Delight): they will question each other, 40 concerning the sinners, 41 “What drove you to Hell?” 42 They will say: "We were not of those who prayed; 43 Nor did we used to feed the poor. 44 We used to wade (in vain dispute) with (all) waders, 45 "And used to deny the Day of Justice." 46 until the Inevitable End [death] overtook us." 47 The mediation of no mediators will avail them then. 48 What is then the matter with them, that they turn away from the admonition 49 As though they were asses startled. 50 fleeing before a lion? 51 Is it that everyone of them wants to receive a heavenly book addressed to him personally? 52 Nay! but they do not fear the hereafter. 53 No indeed; surely it is a Reminder; 54 so whoever wills shall remember it. 55 And they will not receive admonition unless Allah wills; He (Allah) is the One, deserving that mankind should be afraid of, and should be dutiful to Him, and should not take any Ilah (God) along with Him, and He is the One Who forgives (sins). 56
