The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
25 verses, revealed in Mecca after Shattering (Al-Infitaar) before The Romans (Al-Room)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the heaven is split asunder, 1 and gives ear to its Lord, and is fitly disposed; 2 and when the earth is stretched out 3 And throws out whatever it contains and is empty, 4 obeying its Sustainer, as in truth it must: 5 [then,] O man - thou [that] hast, verily, been toiling towards thy Sustainer in painful toil - then shalt thou meet Him! 6 Then he who is given his Record in his right hand, 7 He will be judged with an easy account 8 And will return unto his folk in joy. 9 but as for him whose record shall be given to him from behind his back, 10 He surely will invoke destruction 11 They will suffer the heat of hell fire. 12 Behold, [in his earthly life] he lived joyfully among people of his own kind 13 Verily, he thought that he would never come back (to Us)! 14 This is a fact. Their Lord is Well-Aware of (all that they do). 15 So I do call to witness the ruddy glow of Sunset; 16 And the night and all it gathers, 17 and the moon when it grows full, 18 that you will certainly pass through one stage after another. 19 So, what is the matter with them that they do not believe, 20 and when the Qur'an is recited to them, they do not prostrate themselves? ۩ 21 In fact, they reject the Quran, 22 And Allah well knows what they conceal in their hearts. 23 Therefore give to them glad tidings of a painful punishment, 24 except for those who believe and do good deeds. Theirs shall be an unending reward. 25
True are the words of God the Almighty.
