Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection 1 And I swear by the self-reproaching person (a believer). 2 Does man think that We shall not gather his bones? 3 Yes. [We are] Able [even] to proportion his fingertips. 4 But man would fain deny what is before him. 5 He asks: When is the day of resurrection? 6 When the eye is bewildered, 7 and the moon eclipsed, 8 when the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 upon that day man shall say, 'Whither to flee?' 10 No indeed; not a refuge! 11 Unto your Lord (Alone) will be the place of rest that Day. 12 Upon that day man shall be told his former deeds and his latter; 13 But lo, man is well aware of himself, 14 even though he offer his excuses. 15 Stir not thy tongue herewith to hasten it. 16 We Ourself shall see to its collection and recital. 17 Thus, when We recite it, follow thou its wording [with all thy mind]: 18 Then Ours it is to explain it. 19 Human beings certainly do not want to pay much attention to the Quran. In fact, they love the worldly life 20 And you have forsaken the Hereafter. 21 Some faces on that Day will be fresh and resplendent, 22 Waiting for their Lord. 23 Others will be despondent, 24 certain of facing a great calamity. 25 Some people, certainly, do not believe in it, but when a person's soul reaches up to his throat 26 and the angels say, "Who will take away his soul, 27 And he will realise that this is the parting. 28 And one shin will curl up with the other shin. 29 On that Day you will be driven to your Lord. 30
