And recite to them the story of Ibrahim. 69 He said to his father and to his nation: 'What do you worship' 70 They replied: 'We worship idols and continue cleaving to them' 71 He said: "Do they hear you, when you call (on them)? 72 Or, benefit they you or hurt they you? 73 They said: nay; but we found our fathers doing in this wise. 74 He said: "Have you considered what you have been worshipping, 75 you, and your elderly fathers? 76 They are an enemy to me, except the Lord of all Being 77 “The One Who created me, so He will guide me.” 78 He who gives me food and drink; 79 and heals me when I am sick. 80 "Who will cause me to die, and then to life (again); 81 And Who, I ardently hope, will forgive me my sin on the Day of Judgment. 82 My Lord! bestow on me wisdom and join me with the righteous. 83 and appoint me a tongue of truthfulness among the others. 84 and place me amongst the inheritors of the Garden of Bliss. 85 and forgive my father, for he was among the astray. 86 “And do not disgrace me on the day when everyone will be raised.” 87 The Day when neither wealth nor sons shall benefit 88 except what is done in obedience to God with a submissive heart. 89 "To the righteous, the Garden will be brought near, 90 And hell will appear plainly to the erring. 91 And it will be said unto them: Where is (all) that ye used to worship 92 “Instead of Allah? Will they help you or retaliate?” 93 Then they shall be pitched into it, they and the perverse 94 and the hosts of iblis all together. 95 They will say while contending therein, 96 'By Allah, we were certainly in clear error, 97 when we made you equal with the Lord of the Worlds. 98 And none has brought us into error except the Mujrimun [Iblis (Satan) and those of human beings who commit crimes, murderers, polytheists, oppressors, etc.]. 99 So we have no intercessors, 100 Nor any loving friend. 101 Oh, that we had another turn (on earth), that we might be of the believers! 102 Verily herein is a sign, but most of them are not believers. 103 And verily thy Lord! He is the Mighty, the Merciful. 104
