The Town (Al-Balad)
20 verses, revealed in Mecca after Q (Qaaf) before The Comet (Al-Taareq)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ No! I swear by this land, 1 And you, [O Muhammad], are free of restriction in this city - 2 And by the giver of birth, and whom he fathered, 3 Certainly We have created man to be in distress. 4 Does he, then, think that no one has power over him? 5 He says: “I have squandered enormous wealth.” 6 What, does he think none has seen him? 7 Have We not made for him a pair of eyes?- 8 And a tongue and a pair of lips? 9 And did We not show him the two highroads (of good and evil)? 10 But he has not broken through the difficult pass. 11 Ah, what will convey unto thee what the Ascent is! - 12 It is freeing the neck, 13 Or the giving of food in a day of hunger 14 to an orphaned relative 15 Or the poor in distress; 16 And moreover to be of those who accepted faith, and who urged patience to one another and who urged graciousness to one another. 17 Those are the Companions of the Right Hand. 18 As for those who disbelieve in Our revelations, they are the people of the left 19 over them is a Fire covered down. 20

كيف تعمل منظومة تمارين الحفظ؟ عند أدنى مستوى 0، تكون كل الكلمات ظاهرة. بينما يُخفي أعلى مستوى 9 كل الكلمات. فكيف تعمل المستويات المتوسطة، مثل 3، على سبيل المثال؟ قد تعتقد بأن المنظومة تخفي 3 من كل تسع كلمات بدقة. ليس تماما! في المستوى 3، لكل كلمة فرصة اختفاء بنسبة 3 من 9، و6 من 9 لتكون ظاهرة. بمعنى آخر، من الممكن، ولكن باحتمال شبة معدوم، أن تكون جميع كلمات المستوى 3 مخفية، أو أن تكون جميعها ظاهرة! وكذلك أيضًا، ففي المستويات المتوسطة، وبما يتناسب مع مستوى الصعوبة، يمكن أن تكون المخابئ غير كاملة أو شفافة جزئيًا بحيث تظهر الكلمات جزئيًا تحتها.
How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
