Nay! By the moon 32 By the night when it withdraweth. 33 The morning when it is unveiled, 34 surely (Hell) is one of the greatest Signs, 35 A warning for people -- 36 to whoever among you desires to go forward, or lag behind. 37 Every soul will be (held) in pledge for its deeds. 38 save the Companions of the Right; 39 In Gardens (Paradise) they will ask one another, 40 and will ask of the criminals, 41 "what led you into hell?" 42 They said, “We never used to offer the prayer.” 43 “Nor used to feed the needy.” 44 and we were wont to indulge in sinning together with all [the others] who indulged in it; 45 "And we used to belie the Day of Recompense 46 until certainty came upon us [in death]." 47 Then the intercession of the intercessors shall not profit them. 48 So what is the matter with them that they turn away from the advice? 49 like frightened donkeys 50 fleeing from a lion? 51 Nay, every man of them desires to be -- given -- scrolls unrolled. 52 This will certainly never be the case! In fact, they are not afraid of the Day of Judgment. 53 Nay, verily, this is an admonition 54 Let him then who heeds remember it. 55 But none will remember, unless Allah wills, He is the Owner of fear, the Owner of forgiveness. 56
