The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ WHEN THE SKY is split asunder, 1 And listens and obeys its Lord, and it must do so; 2 when the earth flattens out, 3 And has cast out all that was in it and became empty, 4 And obeys its Lord and it must. 5 O man, you have to strive and go on striving towards your Lord, then will you meet Him. 6 Then as for he who is given his record in his right hand, 7 He will be judged with an easy account 8 and they will return to their people, delighted 9 But as for him whose record shall be given to him behind his back; 10 He shall presently call for death, 11 and he will enter the blazing flame. 12 He used to be happy with his own people; 13 he surely thought he would never revert. 14 Surely yes, why not? Indeed his Lord is seeing him. 15 No! I swear by the twilight 16 and the night and what it envelops 17 by the moon, in its fullness 18 Ye shall surely travel from stage to stage. 19 What is the matter with them that they do not accept faith? 20 And when the Quran is recited to them they do not make obeisance? ۩ 21 Yea those who disbelieve belie. 22 but God knows best whatever they accumulate in their hearts. 23 Wherefore announce thou unto them a torment afflictive. 24 except the righteously striving believers, who will receive a never-ending reward. 25
