The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ The All-merciful 1 who taught the Quran -- 2 He has created man: 3 He hath taught him utterance. 4 The sun and the moon to a reckoning, 5 The plants and trees prostrate before Him. 6 And the heaven! He hath elevated it, and He hath set the balance. 7 so that you would maintain justice. 8 weigh, therefore, [your deeds] with equity, and cut not the measure short! 9 And the earth He laid [out] for the creatures. 10 There exists all kinds of fruits, palm-trees with sheathed blossoms, 11 And grain covered with husk, and fragrant flowers. 12 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? 13 He has created man from dry, rotten clay like the potter's, 14 whereas the invisible beings He has created out of a confusing flame of fire. 15 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 16 Lord of the two Easts, and Lord of the two Wests! 17 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 18 He has set the two oceans in motion, converging together. 19 Between them is a barrier, which they do not overrun. 20 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 21 Out of these two [bodies of water] come forth pearls, both great and small. 22 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 23 Also, His are the ships that run, raised up like mountains upon the sea. 24 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 25
