And (remember) when your Lord said to Moosa, “Go to the unjust people.” 10 “The nation of Firaun; will they not fear?” 11 He said: O my Lord! surely I fear that they will reject me; 12 And that my breast will tighten and my tongue will not be fluent, so send for Aaron. 13 And they have a charge (of murder) against me. So I fear that they will kill me." 14 He said: by no means. So go ye twain with Our signs; verily We shall be with you listening. 15 Go to the Pharaoh and tell him: 'We bring a message from the Lord of all the worlds 16 so send forth with us the Children of Israel." 17 [Fir'aun (Pharaoh)] said [to Musa (Moses)]: "Did we not bring you up among us as a child? And you did dwell many years of your life with us. 18 You spent many years of your life among us and then you committed that deed of yours. You are very ungrateful indeed." 19 Moses said: "I did it then, when I was in error. 20 "So I fled from you (all) when I feared you; but my Lord has (since) invested me with judgment (and wisdom) and appointed me as one of the messengers. 21 And that favour wherewith thou didst oblige me was that thou hadst enslaved the Children of Isra'il? 22 Said Pharaoh: "And what [and who] is that 'Sustainer of all the worlds'?" 23 Moses said, "Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, if only you would be convinced." 24 Said he to those about him, 'Do you not hear?' 25 He said: your Lord and the Lord of your ancient fathers. 26 Fir'awn said: verily your apostle who hath been sent unto you is mad. 27 He said, 'The Lord of the East and West, and what between them is, if you have understanding,' 28 'If you take any other god except myself' he (Pharaoh) replied, 'you shall be thrown into prison' 29 and Moses asked, "Even if I show you a clear sign?" 30 Pharaoh said: "Then bring it if you are truthful at all." 31 So Moses threw down his staff and suddenly it appeared as a serpent, plainly visible. 32 And he drew forth his hand, and lo! it appeared white to the onlookers. 33
