The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ The Most Beneficent (Allah)! 1 has imparted this Qur'an [unto man]. 2 He created the human being 3 Taught him the mode of expression. 4 The sun and the moon are in a reckoning. 5 [before Him] prostrate themselves the stars and the trees. 6 And the skies has He raised high, and has devised [for all things] a measure, 7 (Transgress not in the Balance, 8 And observe the weight with equity and do not make the balance deficient. 9 And earth -- He set it down for all beings, 10 There are fruits of all kinds on it, and date-palms with their clusters sheathed, 11 grain with its husk and aromatic herbs. 12 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 13 He has created man, from dry ringing clay, like the potter"s, 14 and He created the jinn from smokeless fire. 15 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie 16 [He is] the Sustainer of the two farthest points of sunrise, and the Sustainer of the two farthest points of sunset. 17 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 18 He hath let loose the two seas. 19 There is a barrier between them. They encroach not (one upon the other). 20 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 21 Pearls and corals come forth from both of them. 22 Which, of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 23 To Him only belong the sailing ships, raised above the sea like hills. 24 Which of the favours of your Lord will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 25
