Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
CONSIDER the winds that scatter the dust far and wide, 1 And those that bear the burden (of the rain) 2 And those who move (on the water) gently, 3 And those who distribute (it) by command, 4 surely what you are being warned against is true, 5 and the recompense shall surely happen. 6 By the heaven full of paths, 7 Most surely you are at variance with each other in what you say, 8 Let whoever wishes, turn away from Our Quran. 9 Woe to the falsehood-mongers,- 10 who flounder in the depths of ignorance. 11 asking, 'When shall be the Day of Doom?' 12 [It will be] a Day when they will be sorely tried by the fire, 13 "Taste ye your trial! This is what ye used to ask to be hastened!" 14 Verily, the Muttaqun (pious - see V. 2:2) will be in the midst of Gardens and Springs (in the Paradise), 15 They shall receive what their Lord will bestow on them. They have done good works in the past, 16 They slept but a little at night, 17 And in the hours before dawn, they were (found) asking (Allah) for forgiveness, 18 And from their properties was [given] the right of the [needy] petitioner and the deprived. 19 And on the earth there are signs for those who would be convinced. 20 And in your own selves; so can you not perceive? 21 And in the heaven is your sustenance and what you are threatened with. 22 So by oath of the Lord of the heavens and the earth, this Qur’an is the Truth, in the same language that you speak. 23
