Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Hath there come unto thee tidings of the Overwhelming? 1 On that Day faces shall be humbled, 2 Labouring, striving hard. 3 they shall burn in a Scorching Fire; 4 They will be given to drink from a boiling spring, 5 No food will there be for them but a poisonous thorny plant, 6 Which doth not nourish nor release from hunger. 7 Many a face will be in serenity on that day. 8 and pleased with the result of their deeds in the past. 9 in a Garden on high, 10 Where they shall neither hear harmful speech nor falsehood, 11 therein a running fountain, 12 raised couches, 13 well arranged goblets, 14 And arranged carpets. 15 and carpets spread out. 16 Will they not then consider the camels, how they are created? 17 how heaven was lifted up, 18 and how the mountains were firmly fixed? 19 And the earth, how it is spread? 20 So remind, [O Muhammad]; you are only a reminder. 21 Thou art not one to manage (men's) affairs. 22 But he who turns his back, and disbelieves, 23 him will God cause to suffer the greatest suffering [in the life to come]: 24 To Us is surely their returning; 25 Then surely upon Us is the taking of their account. 26
Almighty Allah's Truth.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
