Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ The Resurrection Verifier; 1 And what is that indubitable event? 2 Would that you knew (in detail) what the Inevitable is! 3 Thamud and 'Ad people denied the Qari'ah [the striking Hour (of Judgement)]! 4 As for Thamud, they were destroyed by the outburst. 5 and the Ad were destroyed by a furiously raging wind-storm 6 He made it rage against them seven nights and eight days in succession: so that thou couldst see the (whole) people lying prostrate in its (path), as they had been roots of hollow palm-trees tumbled down! 7 Do you now see any trace of them? 8 Pharaoh and those before him and the people of the overturned habitations all engaged in the same great sin. 9 And they disobeyed their Lord's Messenger, so He punished them with a strong punishment. 10 We, when the water (of Noah's Flood) overflowed beyond its limits, carried you (mankind), in the floating (Ark), 11 In order to make it a warning for you, and that the ear retentive may preserve it. 12 So, when the Trumpet is blown with a single blast 13 and the earth and the mountains are lifted up and crushed with a single blow, 14 On that day shall the great event come to pass, 15 And the heaven will split asunder – so on that day it will be unstable. 16 And the angels are at its edges. And there will bear the Throne of your Lord above them, that Day, eight [of them]. 17 The Day whereon ye shall be mustered nothing hidden by you shall be hidden. 18 Then, as for him who is given his record in his right hand, he will say: Take, read my book! 19 Verily I was sure that I should be a meeter of my reckoning. 20 And he will be in a life of Bliss, 21 In a high garden 22 Whereof the clusters are in easy reach. 23 (They will be told): “Eat and drink with good cheer as a reward for the good deeds you did in the days that have passed by.” 24 However, those who will receive the books of the records of their deeds in their left hands will say, "We wish that this record had never been given to us 25 and had not known my account. 26 Would that it (my death) had ended it all! 27 My riches have not availed me, 28 and our belief has destroyed us". 29 (The stern command will say): "Seize ye him, and bind ye him, 30 And then expose him to hell-fire 31 and then thrust him into a chain [of other sinners like him - a chain] the length whereof is seventy cubits: 32 “Indeed he refused to accept faith in Allah, the Greatest.” 33 "And would not encourage the feeding of the indigent! 34 Wherefore for him here this Day there is no friend. 35 Nor any food except from the discharge of wounds; 36 which no one will eat except the sinners. 37
