The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ Of what do they question one another? 1 About the great news, (i.e. Islamic Monotheism, the Quran, which Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) brought and the Day of Resurrection, etc.), 2 concerning which they are in disagreement! 3 Indeed, they shall know! 4 Again, by no means! anon they shall know. 5 Have We not made the earth an even expanse? 6 And the high hills bulwarks? 7 We created you in pairs, 8 And We have made your sleep as a rest. 9 And made the night as clothing 10 and We made the day for a livelihood. 11 And built seven strong roofs above you. 12 And made [therein] a burning lamp 13 And have sent down from the rainy clouds abundant water. 14 In order to produce grain and plants with it. 15 And gardens of luxurious growth? 16 The Day of Judgment will certainly be the final appointment. 17 The day on which the trumpet shall be blown so you shall come forth in hosts, 18 And the heaven shall be opened so that it shall be all openings, 19 and when the mountains are made to vanish as if they had been a mirage. 20 Verily the Hell is an ambuscade: 21 for the insolent a resort, 22 They will abide therein for ages, 23 They will neither taste anything cool in it, nor anything to drink. 24 only burning despair and ice-cold darkness: 25 A fitting recompense (for them). 26 Verily they were wont not to look for a reckoning. 27 And they denied Our signs to the extreme. 28 Everything have We recorded in a Book. 29 So taste (the fruit of what you sowed), for We shall add nothing but torment, 30
