The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
36 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Spider (Al-Ankaboot) before The Heifer (Al-Baqarah)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Woe to the stinters; 1 Who, when they take a measure from people, take in full. 2 but when they measure or weigh, give less. 3 Do such (men) not consider that they will be raised again 4 On a Great Day, 5 when mankind will stand before the Lord of the Universe? 6 Indeed the ledger of the wicked will be in Sijjin. 7 And what will make you know what Sijjin is? 8 It is a distinctly written record. 9 Woe, on that Day, to those who reject, 10 Who deny the Day of Recompense. 11 No one rejects it except the sinful transgressors 12 When Our Signs are rehearsed to him, he says, "Tales of the ancients!" 13 They will never have faith. In fact, their hearts are stained from their deeds. 14 Indeed! On that Day a barrier will be set between them and their Lord, 15 and then, behold, they shall enter the blazing fire 16 whereafter they will be told: “This is what you used to give the lie to.” 17 No indeed! Verily, the deeds of the virtuous shall be in the record of the exalted ones. 18 And what will explain to thee what 'Illiyun is? 19 a written record, 20 witnessed by all who have [ever] been drawn close unto God. 21 Verily the pious will be in heaven, 22 On thrones, watching. 23 Thou wilt recognize in their faces the brightness of delight. 24 They shall be given to drink of a wine that is sealed, 25 Its seal is upon musk; and for this should those who crave be eager. 26 And it is mixed with Tasneem. 27 A spring, from (the waters) whereof drink those Nearest to Allah. 28 Verily! (During the worldly life) those who committed crimes used to laugh at those who believed. 29 And when the believers used to pass by, they used to gesture at each other with their eyes. 30 And when they went back to their people turned to make fun of them; 31 And when they saw them they said: Lo! these have gone astray. 32 Whereas they were not sent over them as watchers. 33 So today those who believe shall laugh at the unbelievers; 34 seated upon their couches, they are looking around. 35 Have the unbelievers been duly rewarded for their deeds? 36
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
