Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ Nay, I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 No! I swear by the reproachful soul. 2 Thinketh man that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 Indeed yes, We are able to shape his fingerstips yet again! 4 Rather, the human desires to continue in his immorality, 5 He asketh: when will the Day of Resurrection be? 6 At length, when the sight is dazed, 7 And the moon is eclipsed 8 And the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 On that day man will cry: Whither to flee! 10 No indeed; not a refuge! 11 The only place of refuge will be with God. 12 That Day will Man be told (all) that he put forward, and all that he put back. 13 Indeed, man shall be a witness against himself, 14 even though he offers his excuses. 15 (Muhammad), do not move your tongue too quickly to recite the Quran. 16 We Ourself shall see to its collection and recital. 17 And so when We recite it, follow its recitation attentively; 18 Then upon Us is its clarification [to you]. 19 Yet you love this hasty world 20 and leave be the Hereafter. 21 Some faces will on that Day be bright with happiness, 22 Looking toward their Lord. 23 And (other) faces on that day shall be gloomy, 24 Thou wilt know that some great disaster is about to fall on them. 25 No! When the soul has reached the collar bones 26 And they will say, “Is there any one – any magician?” 27 and he realises that the hour of parting is come, 28 and is enwrapped in the pangs of death 29 The drive will be, on that Day, to your Lord (Allah)! 30
