Ad cried lies to the Envoys 123 When their brother Hud said to them: "Will you not fear Allah and obey Him? 124 I am for you a faithful Messenger, 125 So fear God and listen to me. 126 And I do not ask you any reward for it; surely my reward is only with the Lord of the worlds 127 Do you construct on every elevation a sign, amusing yourselves, 128 and do you take to you castles, haply to dwell forever? 129 When you assault, you assault like tyrants. 130 Rather keep your duty to Allah, and obey me. 131 fear Him who has aided you with all that you know -- 132 Gave you increase of cattle and sons, 133 And orchards and springs. 134 I fear the punishment of a terrible day for you. 135 They said, "Whether you preach to us or not, 136 "This is no other than a customary device of the ancients, 137 We will not be subjected to any chastisement." 138 So they rejected him; and We destroyed them. There is certainly a sign in that; but most of them would not believe. 139 And verily thy Lord? He is the Mighty, the Merciful. 140
